J. Stephen Casscles

Stephen is a horticulturist and the author of Grapes of the Hudson Valley and Other Cool Climate Regions of the United States and Canada. He advises and lectures at the Fermentation Sciences Program at SUNY at Cobleskill and contributes frequently to academic and trade journals. At his 12-acre farm in Athens, NY, Stephen cultivates more than 110 rare heritage and hybrid grape varieties. He oversees the Hudson Valley Heritage Wines program at Milea Estate Vineyard, fermenting and bottling wines that capture a taste of history.
